Reminder: be vigilant of phishing scams! Reminder: be vigilant of phishing scams!

Over the past few months, we have noticed a considerable increase in the amount of phishing attempts targeting our customers. These attempts range from trying to collect simple email usernames and passwords, to much more serious attempts in collecting personal financial information like credit cards and even social security numbers.

No matter how legitimate these requests seem to you, they are phishing attempts. We will never reach out to you and ask you for your username and/or password for any reason. The same applies with financial information. Some phishing attackers will even "spoof" official email addresses used by Meganet in attempts to appear more legitimate.

So even if the email you receive appears to be real, the odds are, it probably isn't! Please don't follow the links in these emails, as they can take you to destinations on the web that could be dangerous. A quick hover of the link should confirm whether the link will take you somewhere unofficial. If the URL doesn't end in .meganet.net, it's a scam!

Be safe on the web.

Upcoming changes to Meganet email Upcoming changes to Meganet email

Meganet will soon be upgrading our mail system for all customers. The new system, IMAIL, will offer you
greater flexibility and robustness – allowing you to manage your email in
the most efficient way possible.

The IMAIL system brings with it a refreshing user interface, the ability
to change your own password, powerful spam scanning, and much more.

How does the change affect you?

We are aiming for a seamless transition. This means you should not have to
change any server settings in your email client or mobile devices. If you
use the Meganet webmail web site, the login screen will now appear
differently, as will your inbox.

FightMySpam (SpamCan) will be discontinued.

In effort to streamline our services and improve ease of use, we will be
discontinuing FightMySpam.com. Spam scanning will be included on the IMAIL
system, eliminating the need for you to log in at a separate website to
check trapped spam messages.

What will happen to my mail stored on the current server?
It may be transferred over to the new IMAIL system via IMAP, and will be
accessible on the https://oldmail.meganet.net/ (link not yet active) for
up to one year.

When is this expected to take place?

Our team is aiming to complete the transition by the end of this month. An
exact date will be shared with you in the days ahead.

Is there any action I need to take?

Not at this time. This is just an informational notice.
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us at
support@meganet.net or by calling 508-646-0030.
